MagneForce Software Systems, Inc. releases a software
simulation package for Brush Commutated Permanent Magnet Machines. The
program known as BCPM uses MagneForces’ proven techniques of parameterized
geometry modeling, easy winding and commutator description, powerful
finite element magnetic analysis coupled to a Spice circuit solver and
parameterized output. In addition to the Spice circuit solver BCPM contains
a transient solver that is capable of predicting machine transient behavior.
BCPM is a complete motor design environment that allows characterization
of the entire machine and drive circuit without having to construct
a prototype. The software automatically computes difficult to predict
parameters such as permanent magnet demagnetization, iron loss density
and cogging torque.
MagneForce Software Systems specializes in producing simulation software
for rotating electric machines using finite elements for magnetic field
calculations together with various time based techniques for circuit
simulations. This approach allows MagneForce to accurately compute all
harmonics and non-linearities whether they be magnetic, spatial or time
based.
